An internationally renowned bass with a career spanning over thirty years, he has performed leading roles at the world's most important opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Covent Garden in London, and the Opรฉra Bastille in Paris.
He has worked under the direction of legendary conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, and Sir Simon Rattle.
Among the highlights of his career is his inclusion, in 2017, in the Metropolitan Opera's "Roll of Honour" for passing 100 performances.
His artistic activity is documented on numerous CDs and DVDs for prestigious labels (EMI, DECCA, etc.).
In addition to his commitments on stage, he is the author of several books, including Lo spirito dellโopera, and currently shares his expertise by teaching at the Metropolitan Opera House's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.
He maintains a busy schedule as a soloist, with major engagements lined up throughout 2025.
