Today, 10 March, we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of an absolute genius of the 18th century: Lorenzo Da Ponte. Born in Ceneda in 1749, Da Ponte was much more than a librettist; he was the man who gave voice and soul to Mozartโs masterpieces, bringing a piece of our land to the worldโs most prestigious stages, from Vienna to New York.
If you walk past the Civic Library of Ceneda, in Vittorio Veneto, you cannot miss the statue dedicated to him. The artwork is not just a monument, but an ideal bridge between his local past and his incredible international career.
To honour this special occasion and look to the future of our festival, we have chosen this very day to reveal a major update: the Da Ponte Opera Festival is refreshing its look. We are proud to present our new logo, which you can see in our profile picture.
